36th Street Sewer Separation Project

36th Street Sewer Separation (State Street to McKinley Street) Project

The purpose of the 36th Street Sewer Separation Project was to separate the existing combined sewer on 36th Street between State and McKinley Streets. This project was identified in the Long Term Control Plan as one of two projects to be constructed to ultimately eliminate CSO 103, located at the Bridge Street Lift Station.  For this project, a new 24-inch diameter storm sewer was constructed parallel to the existing combined sewer in 36th Street. Existing storm water inlets were disconnected from the combined sewer and connected to the new storm sewer, 14 new storm water inlets were constructed, and ditches were stabilized using erosion control matting. The existing combined sewer is now serving as a sanitary sewer for the area.
